Clovis Fernandes, the supporter known as “the saddest man in Brazil” from the crushing defeat of his team the 2014 World Cup, died Sept 16th.

Clovis Acosta Fernandes was a supporter of the Brazilian football team for 25 years. Having attended all the matches in the World Cup team since 1990, he was also present at the semi-final in 2014 between Brazil and Germany.
Remember, this is the match where Brazil took a spectacular 7-1 defeat, which still stings a year later. Among the images of sad fans is that of Clovis. It showed the mustached papi in tears, clutching his replica of the Trophy.
